Fried Chicken with Turmeric
1 lbs Chicken tights/drumsticks
3 shallots – finely chopped
2 garlic – finely chopped
300 ml water
1 tsp palm granulated sugar or palm sugar
3 candle nuts (grind)
2 Salam leaves
3 cm lemon grass (thinly sliced)
2 tsp tumeric powder
Oil for deep frying
Wash chicken with cold water and pat dry. Rub salt and sprinkle tumeric powder all over the chicken meat. Let it stands for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, boil water in a medium pan and add all other ingredients. Simmer for about 3 minutes.
Place the meat in the pan and cook it until all water is gone.
Heat oil until about in a deep pot. Make sure the oil does not fill the pot more than ½ since the oil will expand when it’s hot.
Fry the chicken in the oil until crispy and brown.
