1 lbs ground chicken
100 gr tapioca starch
2 cups finely chopped carrots
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
salt and white pepper
Siomay wrapper (square ones)
In a big bowl, stir in together ground chicken, egg, tapioca starch, sesame oil, hoisin sauce and 1 cup of chopped carrots. Add salt and pepper. Keep stirring until all ingredients are mixed completely.
Take about 1 tsp of the filling and cook in a boiling water. Once it cooks, taste the filling. If itís not salty enough, add more salt.
Make a ĺ circle top with your thumb and index finger. Take one wrapper and place on top of the circle.
Spoon about 1 tbsp of chicken mixture in the middle of the wrapper and push down with the spoon to the circle between your index and thumb. Use your other fingers to make sure it doesnít fall down.
Place it in a plate flat on the bottom and add 1 tsp of chopped carrots on top of siomay. Repeat until all ingredients are finished.
Prepare a steamer and steam the siomay for about 25-30 minutes.
Serve with Sweet and Sour sauce or ABC Sweet and Spicy (Manis Pedas)
